DrumDrops Yamaha Hybrid Kit KONTAKT

This Yamaha hybrid kit is a great sounding all round multi-sampled kit.

The kit is owned by producer Ben Hillier (Depeche Mode, Nadine Shah, Graham Coxon) and resides in Miloco's Pool Studio in London. The kit has been used by loads of artists and can be heard on many hit records. The drums used to make up this kit have come from a combination of Yamaha kits and together provide a great sounding kit. Before we began sampling up the kit our drum tech Martin Oldham came in, changed the heads to Pre international Remo Coated Ambassador heads and got the kit sounding great.

The 1970s Rogers Big R Dub Kit is the kit that we used to record Drumdrops in Dub Volume 3 and Drumdrops in Ska. This is the ultimate sounding dub kit. It is available to purchase in three different packs and is a must for anyone wanting an authentic dub drum sound. The kit was sampled in The Ironworks, a vintage tracking studio in Brighton, UK that has been used by Horseman, Little Roy, Prince Fatty amongst others. The acoustics of the live room has been masterminded by the ex-Olympic and Radio Caroline tech Mike Craig and it provides a great controlled sound for a Dub kit.

This kit, which was a Mapex Saturn Kit comes with three Mapex Snares including a much sought after Black Panther Hammered Series snare in Phosphor Bronze. The kit also comes with three crash cymbals, a china crash and a ride cymbal. It has been recorded with 16 velocity levels and multiple articulations. This Mapex Saturn kit is owned by Jason Bowld (Killing Joke, Bullet For My Valentine) who uses it for all his recording sessions with some of the UKs leading rock producers.
