Throughout history, the Andean flutes of south America have gained recognition and have captivated audiences worldwide. They have been played by indigenous cultures in the Andean region of South America for centuries.
The Quena flutes in particular is a traditional wind instruments that is one the most iconic instruments associated with Andean music and has a rich history and cultural significance.
The Quena serve as a symbol of cultural identity and a means of preserving the rich traditions of the Andean people, while also captivating listeners with it's enchanting melodies and evocative power.
On this series of recordings, we are proud to host Peruvian Maestro Musican Kike Pinto. Kike Migrated as child from the Andes to Lima City, Peru, and spent his life's work traveling through the Andes and Amazonian range studying the origins of its musical languages, instruments, vocals and sounds in order to create and compose his own music and songs. He owns one of largest collections of indigenous flutes and instruments of the region and has been a true ambassador of the native music of Peru, and the andes.
