Founded in 2010 by musician Mohammed Alidu and the Playing For Change Foundation, the Bizung School can be heard playing across their distinct percussion family, ranging from talkings drums to the shekere, kagan, gun gon, and more. Vocals and layered ensemble loops extend the range of the collection––a work of music anthropology created to shine a light on a West African musical tradition both contemporary and ancient.
