Starting with the drum groove, Paul creates the beats and bass, employing ingenious tactics for achieving the all-important, rumbling techno bass sound. Following this, he demonstrates how to add ambience and subtle rhythmic textures, before applying individual and group processing. The latter modules then cover the creation of melodic parts, including a modular-style, atonal lead, using M4L devices and a synthesised and resampled 'vinyl' lead, whilst teaching many advanced signal processing and macro-mapping techniques along the way.
