Designed for the newcomer to MASCHINE MK3, Paul begins by welcoming you and goes over what the series will do. He then gets right to it and covers loading a kit and creating patterns, browsing and loading groups, setting recording preferences, and how to create patterns and record your first loop with both live input and step sequencing.
Next, you'll see how to add Drum Modules and use Note Repeat for even more creative options. Then watch and learn how to add in chord stabs using MASCHINE's keyboard and chord modes, as well as how to use the note editor to alter note lengths and automate effects using the step sequencer.
Paul then shows you how to configure a master controller keyboard and add in a bass line, how to add in an ethereal / ambient melodic layer, and use the compressor module to apply sidechaining for that modern sound. Working with patterns, scenes and arpeggios are next, as well as how to use the arranger and scene views to chain song sections together and more.
You'll also learn how to use third party VST effects, utilize the new audio functionality to import a white noise sweep and sync it to the tempo of the project, as then add filter automation to create an exciting build to your song.
Wrapping it all up, Paul reveals how to import and manually slice a vocal sample, and then prepare and export your files so they can be used for collaboration or mixing in another DAW.
