Noisebud HaasPan and pHaasE v1.0 WiN
WiN: VST x86 | SIZE: 5.55 MB
The entity Noisebud can pretty much do whatever it likes and not care about anyone or anything else. It initiates and participates in collaborations, art projects & develop music software. But most of all the Noisebud enjoys making groovy noise and perform them live.
HaasPan
This is a simple Haas panner, it uses psycho-acoustics to make you believe the audio comes from either left or right (depending which way you pan… duh) but in reality the audio haven’t moved a single bit. At least not in the stereo image, check your stereo level meter and you’ll find the energy is still exactly the same on both Left and Right channel. We only went as far as 11ms since we think it start to sound odd after that, in theory you should be able to use up to 40ms delay.
We copied a part of Wikiaudio’s article on the matter right under the picture if you’d would like to read more about the Haas effect
pHaasE
pHaasE is a rest product from a series of experiments with the Haas effect. pHaasE delay the side information within the Haas time boundaries and totally screw up your audios imaging but will leave a totally new stereo image which might sound very pleasing both on single elements in the mix or in a mastering situation.
At first we didn’t intend to make public versions of the experiment but we found the technique to be useful and in some cases it could save badly imaged mixes with great sounding results. It can also help to even out the imaging in film audio, a bit like mono’ing a stereo recording for more focus but still have stereo.
