Native Instruments DRUMLAB is your very own evil lab for creating monster drum sounds and kits. Let mad drum scientist Eli Krantzberg show you how to pump new life into your productions and songs with this electrifying virtual drum instrument!
Eli begins with an introduction to the instrument and its 3 main areas, then jumps right in showing you how to start layering sounds, previewing grooves and saving presets. Next up is the Kit Page, where you'll learn how to use the effects to blend and shape the balance between the different available mic mixes.
Eli then shows you how the individual instrument controls are used to shape the direct sound of each kit and piece, as well as how to get your grooves going with the bundled MIDI drum groove files and performance parameters. The Options Page is also explored, revealing how to customize note mappings, adjust velocities and how to optimize memory settings for the best system performance.
Wrapping up the series, Eli explains how to set up a multi-output version of DRUMLAB and output its drum sounds to a separate track, and then gives a deeper look at how instrument controls are laid out on the single instrument versions of some of the DRUMLAB kit pieces.
