Rob Papen's SubBoomBass is far more than just a Subsonic Bass Generator, it's a full fledged polyphonic synthesizer with an integrated step sequencer as well. In this tutorial series, studio tech guru Alex Solano shows you how to get down low with this powerful creative virtual instrument!
After a brief overview of SubBoomBass's capabilities, Alex starts with the various Play modes, showing you how to use it as both a Bass Generator and Polyphonic Synth. Alex then goes into the components of the synthesizer, with videos on the Oscillators, Filter, Sequencer, Free Mod Four-Part Modulation Matrix, and Effects.
Once you've explored the components of SubBoomBass, Alex gets into the fun stuff by demonstrating how to use this soft synth creatively. First, he demonstrates how to Create a Pitchy Lead by taking a simple melody and using SubBoomBass's Pitch Modulation capability.
Alex then shows you how to make a rich, polyphonic Pad Sound, as well as how to sculpt a Deep House patch using FM Synthesis. Wrapping it up, Alex demonstrates how to use both Oscillators to craft a Classic House patch and how to use SubBoomBass to build a traditional 90s R&B synth lead.
