Four Liverpudlian musicians changed the audio recording landscape in the 60s. EMI began development of in house hardware that found a home in Abbey Road, recording studio of many a successful artist. The foundation of this library is based on a genuine vintage EMI microphone amplifier section that I managed to track down. A custom made and modified unit optimised for modern recording, it has a 50 Ohm /200 Ohm preamp section and a DI/Line level input. Making your audio full, warm and with a subdued high end to cure harsh highs if you’re looking for something really close to the EMI REDD 47 preamps/ amplifiers, then this may help you get a little closer. The magic is in the transformers. I studied many reference recordings to attempt to emulate the gentle curves that may lead to you having a nice fat warm and round kick for your studio.
