Hey there! We know you're a fan of Mark Sampson's work...and so are we! That's why we're beyond excited to bring you this brand-new ToneX Capture Pack, featuring one of his finest creations and one of our most treasured amps: the early 2000s Bad Cat Black Cat 30R 2x12.

Now, you might be thinking, "Wait, haven't you already released this amp?" Well, yes and no. This new offering of the Black Cat packs some exciting updates you won't find in our original release. First off, we've used a 2x12 combo instead of the 1x12 from the first pack. This particular 2x12 combo is loaded with a Bad Cat custom V30 and a rare Bad Cat custom Greenback. The Greenback brings a brilliant cut and high-end presence, especially when you're cranking the gain, while the V30 shines in the mids and lows. This pairing was a clever move Mark took from his time at Matchless, though it was used sparingly at Bad Cat.

The second big difference is that our original Black Cat pack didn't include captures of the channels blended or “jumped” together. This technique was a favorite for many players, as it allowed them to blend the two distinct sounds of the amp. We've captured that magic here, so you can experience it for yourself in this updated pack!

With roots in the Matchless DC30, the Black Cat has become a legendary amp in the guitar world, known for its signature British chime and rich harmonic grind. We've captured both channels of this amp, plus the option of blending or “jumping” them together. Channel one, powered by the 12AX7 preamp tube, delivers a wide, open frequency range. Channel two, with the EF86 preamp tube, offers natural tube compression, harmonic saturation, and smooth gain breakup. We've meticulously captured every detail of this world-class amp, so you can experience the true legacy of Bad Cat and Mark Sampson like never before!
