So you've decided to learn guitar! We commend you on your choice and have just the course for you. In this 12-lesson series, pro guitarist Doug Boduch will walk you through the process from the very beginning, teaching you everything from the parts of the guitar and basic technique to learning chord progressions, strumming patterns, scales, and licks! By the end of the course, you'll be well on your way to playing your favorite songs and learning your favorite licks and solos. These videos are designed for complete beginners.

The course begins with your first five lessons, in which you'll learn important info such as the parts of the guitar, basic playing technique for both hands (pick hand and fret hand), the note names of the open strings and first few notes, and some chords as well. By the end of these first five lessons, you'll be playing your first little song.

After that, you'll get a quick refresher lesson to make sure you're still applying proper techniques so you don't develop any bad habits that you would need to unlearn later on. Then you'll learn to tune the guitar by ear, which is an essential skill for when you find yourself without an electronic tuner.
