In DJ Phillips' “Country Licks of the Legends,” you'll go on a journey that takes you back to the country pioneers of the 1950s, all the way to the superstars of the 1990s. You'll learn about the techniques used in classic country such as complex fingerpicking and hybrid picking, and will expand your own musical vocabulary in the process. By the end of this course you'll have a deeper appreciation for this All-American genre, and will be able to incorporate a new repertoire of phrases and techniques into your own playing.
“I had a great time exploring the history of classic country music from Hank Williams in the 50s all the way up to Garth Brooks in the 90s, and I'm excited to show you what we've done with this look back. We're going to examine a lot of different techniques, from the more jazz-influenced early classic country music to some of the chicken picking and rhythm techniques across the scope.”
