Maharlika Gaming Lullabies is a sample pack crafted by Jaimie Pangan and Nicky Juanite inspired by calming and meditative video game soundtracks like that from Minecraft and The Legend of Zelda. The duo met on Instagram while away from home and formed a bond as they both longed for their shared motherland, the Philippines. Having lived away from home the past couple of years, they developed an appreciation for their culture and its music. Along with this, both composers love playing video games and used that inspiration dream up a sample pack that works as a beautiful video game soundtrack while showing the rich cultural heritage of the archipelago and the essence of Philippine music through their unique perspectives. 

The sample pack, Maharlika Gaming Lullabies, features a collection of captivating sounds from the Philippines and a mesmerizing array of retro synth sounds that create a unique imaginative blend. Jaimie focused on the synths and sound design, while Nicky recorded the traditional instruments including percussion like the agung, bungkaka, gandingan, kulintang and kubing as well as Philippine melodic instruments such as the bandurria lute and the octavia lute which arrived in the Philippines during Spanish colonization. Complemented by synths that create a lush ambient vibe, these sounds together are ideal for video game soundtracks, mediative music, calming ambient tracks, electronica music, and so much more.

Jaimie Pangan is a violinist, music producer and a music composer for film, TV and games previously based in Los Angeles, California, and now currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally hailing from the Philippines, she loves experimenting string sounds with electronic elements and creates hybrid ambient textures that blend with cinematic drama. In 2020, she was invited to be a voting member of the Recording Academy, and in 2021, she became a GRAMMYs NEXT alumni. Her music can be heard on different platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and various Academy Award Qualifying film festivals. She also assisted in the music department of productions under Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. In her spare time, she loves to study Japanese, watch films, read a good book, dye her hair, play Genshin Impact/Pokémon/Honkai Star Rail and eat Korean/Japanese food.

Nicky Juanite is a Filipino composer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter currently based in South Korea. She highly believes that innovating traditional music is the way to keep an art form continuously relevant to the present society. The medium of her compositions fuses Korean Gugak and Philippine Music to create innovative sounds that captivated international festivals and competitions.
