Artist and producer ISS 814 (Ismaila Talla) returns with yet another Splice Sessions release, this time trying his hand at producing classic ‘90s boom bap stylings. These sounds are a fusion of inspiration from artists on the boom bap spectrum like DJ Premier, Madlib, and Dilla with an African instrumental pallet. Produced in Fruity Loops, Ableton, Logic, you’ll find loops and one-shots featuring ngoni, kora, flutes, and horns paired with booming bass and hip hop beats.
