First introduced in the late 80s, software music trackers like the C64 Soundmonitor and the Amiga SoundTracker were very popular amongst pro and hobbyist electronic musicians. You then get an overview of the Polyend Tracker hardware and interface. Nigel gives a tour of the back panel and the main panel. You learn how to load and save projects, navigate the interface using the various keys, and configure the preferences to suit your workflow.
Nigel then reveals how sampling works, from recording and editing samples to using wavetable and granular synthesis. Continuing with the course, you discover everything about pattern creation, how to process the audio with effects, and how to turn your patterns into complete songs. Nigel also covers mixing and mastering, live performing tips and various tricks to get the most of the Polyend Tracker.
