Polly-Louisa Salmon is a British pop singer known by her stage name GFOTY, an abbreviation of Girlfriend of the Year. From 2014-2018 she has released music through the PC Music label. She made her independent debut in 2018 with the release of her single Boy Next Door. Much of her best-known work has been in the form of mini-mixes.

Polly-Louisa doesn't like labeling her music by genre or style. It's an amalgamation of her tastes and listening habits. She told us, "My music is quite literally based on a real algorithm of whatever I'm into at the time and what's going on in my head. I listen to mostly dad-style rock like Squeeze, Supertramp, and Madness, and also 2005 era British indie music with a dose of ABBA, Queen, and Nirvana, but when I go out, I'll listen to Scooter or Pitbull while I get ready. I think that element mixed with the embarrassing mixture of music I listen to daily must somehow create my own little version of hyperpop which you'd hear in my music."
