Signature Guitar Licks and Techniques for Fills, Solos and Creative Improvisation
In this collection of Gristleman Guitar Licks, Greg Koch cherry-picked 30 of his own favorite licks that he uses frequently as idea starters for fills and solos. From big bends and vibrato to chicken picking and whammy bar techniques, you'll find countless ways to vary them for any genre and make them your own.
”Why should a player build a vocabulary of licks? For the same reason we learn a vocabulary of words - to have a variety of ways to express ourselves musically.
Personally, I'm not really concerned with learning solos entirely. When I hear a phrase or lick that's ear-catching and appeals to me, I want to add that to my own little stew, my own vocabulary.
I'll show you many of my go-to gristle guitar techniques like big old bends, and vibratos, behind -the-nut squeals, hybrid picking, chicken picking, whammy bar skullduggery and more - the whole nine yards!”
You'll be able to use TrueFire's learning tools to loop, slow down any video so you can practice and play along with me at your own pace.”
For each of these 30 Gristleman licks, Greg will give you a demonstration over a backing track, and then show you how to play it. Greg uses sections of his original recording tracks as backing tracks for the course.
Greg will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You'll get standard notation and tabs for all of the licks. Plus, you'll be able to use TrueFire's learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson.
You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are also included to work with on your own.
Grab your guitar, and let's 'pound the gristle' with Greg Koch!
