Fundamental Techniques & Patterns for Funky Guitar Rhythm Parts
Funk is not only a timeless genre of music, it's also an essential rhythm guitar skill that you'll apply across virtually every genre of music. If you're playing classic funk, soul or R&B music, you'll be playing “funky” parts almost exclusively. But you can also bring the “funk” when playing rock, jazz, blues, pop -- you'll even hear some very funky modern country tracks.
Carl Burnett's collection of 30 Beginner Funk Rhythms will equip you with enough funky firepower to spice up any jam, song or composition, across virtually every style of music.
”Learning how to lock into the rhythm section with a tight syncopated guitar part that keeps the audience tapping their feet is more about feel than anything else.
The quickest and easiest way to develop that feel is simply practicing playing funky parts over funky tracks. That's exactly what we'll do together here in this collection of 30 funk rhythm guitar parts.
We'll work with 6 funky jam tracks in different keys and tempos. I'll show 5 different rhythm approaches for each one of those tracks.
Along the way, I'll show you essential funk chord voicings, right-hand techniques, versatile single-note approaches, funk scratches, double-stops and other key “funky” approaches and techniques.
Most importantly -- you'll be able to practice and playalong with me throughout the entire course!”
Carl will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You'll get standard notation and tabs for all of the performance studies. Plus, you'll be able to use TrueFire's learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson.
You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are also included to work with on your own.
Grab your guitar and let's get funky with Carl Burnett!
