It's finally here – our first ever series with Jaycen Joshua! This unique set of videos uncovers the template and highly sought-after techniques used by the exceptionally talented mixer. Using a new ITB mix session of the hypnotic 2018 single 'Malamente' by Spanish artist Rosalía, Jaycen shows you how he managed to craft a fully digital mix that competes with his original console mix. He discusses and plays the source tracks, then demonstrates how he treated them using his innovative template and plug-in settings. Aside from the technical aspect, Jaycen tells of how his involvement in the project began, the collaboration with artist and producer, his sonic expression through personal taste, optimising transients and voltage for perceived loudness, mastering, and more. To make this series even more special, we have featured the legendary Dave Pensado asking Jaycen some very pertinent questions about his approach!
