Splice Originals Memphis Soul Horn Stax WAV
Flare | 04 August 2020 | 755 MB
Memphis Soul Horn Stax is our first Splice Originals pack created in quarantine. Ben Wareham recorded all of the original sounds in his own home, holed up with every horn and wind instrument imaginable. The Splice Originals production team worked with him remotely throughout the entire process and polished the pack up in post.
Wareham and the Originals team set out to achieve the arrangement sound of the legendary Memphis soul record label, Stax - home to Otis Redding, Booker T. & the MGs, and Isaac Hayes - to name a few. Wareham layered a baritone, alto, and tenor sax in addition to his trumpet to get this vibe. In this pack, you'll find punchy stabs, swells, pads, arpeggios, and melodies all stacked together for that southern soul sound.
