Soundholder EMF WAV

Electromagnetic Field sound library features 216 stereo 96kHz recordings of more than 80 different electronic devices. The total length of the files is 6 hours and 18 minutes. Post production process was limited to EQ and compression with some noise reduction in few cases, but most of the files are ready for further processing and designing completely new sounds. Everything was recorded in stereo, and in some cases sounds are wildly flying across not only whole frequency spectrum but also pan image. Inside you’ll find a lot of different hum noises, hiss and electrical swipes and whooshes, buzzing high pitch and low pitch sounds, beeps and bleeps, servo and small engines running in a different way, data processing kind of sounds, interference and corruption effects and more. It’s a great all around library when it comes to designing various electronic machinery sound effects.

Soundholder Harbours Of Norway WAV

Harbours Of Norway sound library features 25 files with ambients recorded in Myre, Sto and Nyksund, very small towns with direct access to the sea. Most of the sound effects were recorded at night, but since it’s a polar day time of the year, it was very pleasurable to walk and look for convenient places to set up my gear. Everything was recoded with ORTF setup built from two Sennheisers MKH 8040. Inside this library, you’ll find a lot of seagulls, waves crushing on the rocks and plants, windy ambients from the cliff, industrial sound from port in Myre with ship unloading the cargo, walla with steam engine boat and additional sounds from boat engine market and air cooling aggregates from food containers. Every file was recorded in 96kHz, edited (i removed any unintentional bumps, pops and unwanted sounds). I limited EQing to removing harsh frequencies, or enhancing a little bit the good sounding ones. At the end of the chain there is a small compression, for louder sounds.

Soundholder Water Flow WAV

Water Flow sound library took me about six months to record, consumed about 15 thermoses of tea and 42 litres of gasoline to get to all locations. It offers 90 BWAV files recorded in different locations. Huge part of this library is based on the recording sessions on the rivers. Two completely different locations, recorded regularly for the last 5 months allowed me to create this unique sound library. Most of the recording sessions took place during winter just before the sun was rising to reduce the amount of unwanted sounds. Almost all recordings are completely clear and only few have birds in background, since it was my intention to record some location ambients with natural backgrounds.

Metal Contact sound library features the recordings of various metal surfaces tortured with different tools. From touching things with fingers, through hitting with metal bars and up to using blender or magnets to cause the materials to resonate. It’s 136 files with total length of 230 minuts. 4.16 GB of audio recorded in 96kHz and 24bits recorded with Sound Devices 702 and two Schaller Oyster contact microphones. While recording this library my goal was to cover different needs, not only for sound designers but also editors. Scrapes and squeaks were recorded with different intensity and speeds, just like the impacts. From soft and quiet, through medium up to loud and reverberant ones. In addition to the regular approach of just touching, hitting and scraping metal parts, I’ve decided to record few experimental sound effects.

Cars In Motion sound library was built from 600 WAV files, with total length of 379 minutes. It was recorded in 96kHz and 24 bits with Sound Devices 702, two Sennheisers MKH 8040, Rode NTG3 and Sony PCM-M10. It features exterior sounds of cars driving at different speeds, slow/medium/fast/very fast pass-bys, reverse sounds, accelerations, braking sounds and a lot of additional files. You’ll find different engines, and cars with different character. From small BMW 114i through powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 with Magna Flow exhaust, up to fast twin turbo BMW 640D F12. Swipes & Whooshes sound library is a collection of different air-cutting sounds emitted by everyday objects flying with a high speed. It can be a great and handy tool in designing more complex sound effects for games, like weapons sound effects or game user interface. Everything was recorded with high quality equipment, able to capture frequencies well above 20kHz, so it’s a very flexible material when it comes to stretching or pitch shifting. 66 stereo ORTF files features 1841 sound effects, cause each recording contains different variations of the same activity. The total length of the files is 35 minutes, and you can read more about included sounds here. As for the post processing, everything was edited and mastered. Editing came down to removing unwanted sounds between takes, and mastering to removing harsh sounding frequencies, compressing and setting everything on level that is comfortable to work with, so you don’t have to constantly adjust the levels while looking for specific sound. Soundholder Bunkers WAV

Bunkers sound library features room tones and ambients recorded inside old World War II shelters. 23 files with total length of 57 minutes were recorded with Sony PCM-M10 and Sennheiser MKH 8040 plugged into Sound Devices 702 recorder in ORTF configuration. Ambients were captured in small rooms deep inside bunkers, in hallways, inside old rusty water pipes and outside, between bunkers. It includes room tones with water dripping from ceilings, small pieces of wall falling on the floor and wind getting through destroyed walls. The whole complex is located in Poland and it’s called Wolf’s Lair.
