Wanted to update you guys on this new style that Drake and a few others seem to be really bringing into hip hop and hop. If you listen to a lot of Drake's new stuff, it has very trippy elements and interesting sample manipulation that we believe will be big in the future. A lot of this sound can be traced back to a producer named Shlohmo who has been using this kind of sound for years, so this week we show you how to do all this in FL Studio.
What Do We Cover?
The new tutorial is 9 parts and includes a lot of information on sample manipulation, everything from how to create a loop from an irregular sample to how to pitch samples to different pitches, play them simultaneously and have it still sound good and be in key. We also cover various drum programming and ambient layers and textures. A construction kit is also included with the kit that features drums, vst presets and the FLP for the final project.
